The journey of a thousand miles...

Lao Tzu a philosopher of ancient China, a Taoist and "One of the Three Pure Ones" once said:

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step"

Hi, my name is Maarten Volders - Founder of AGILEMinds - and throughout these blog posts I'll take you through every step on my journey towards building an innovative software company that offers knowledge and inspiration from the world's most inspired thinkers, a company that will build a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other. We believe passionately in the power of ideas that change attitudes, lives and ultimately the world, one person at a time.

I did some research on the above quote and it seems a more correct translation of the original Chinese would be "The journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one's feet." Rather than emphasizing the first step, Lao Tzu regarded action as something that arises naturally from stillness. Another potential phrasing would be "Even the longest journey must begin where you stand."

My journey started long ago, with ideas, crazy thoughts, hopes and dreams... today I invite you to be part of them. Help me overcome obstacles, see what I don't see, remind me of that what I have forgotten, guide me along the way for if you lead me I cannot stray.
